Begonia Dainty Spray Variegata Care Guide Light Thrives in bright, indirect light. The variegation becomes more pronounced with good light, but protect from harsh sun, which can scorch the thinner, lighter leaf areas. Ideal for windowsills with filtered light or grow-light setups. Watering Keep the soil lightly and consistently moist, but never waterlogged. Water when the top 23 cm of soil feels slightly dry. Avoid splashing water on the leaves, as it can cause spotting. Reduce watering in winter while maintaining light humidity. Temperature and Humidity Temperature: Prefers warmth between 1826 C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15 C.Humidity: Moderate to high humidity (6080%) supports healthy growth and vibrant variegation. Use a humidifier or place near other tropicals, but avoid misting directly onto the foliage. Soil and Potting Use a light, airy, moisture-retentive mix compost combined with perlite, coco coir, and a little fine bark works beautifully. Begonias dislike dense, soggy soil. Repot every 12 years in spring to refresh the substrate and encourage new root growth. Feeding Feed every 46 weeks during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced fertiliser. Avoid excessive feeding, which may diminish variegation. Suspend feeding in winter. Pruning and Maintenance Remove old or yellowing leaves at the base to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth. Use a soft brush to clean dust from the foliage gently, preserving its delicate texture. Rotate occasionally for even growth. Growth and Maturity A compact grower, Begonia Dainty Spray Variegata typically reaches 2030 cm in height and width. Its bushy form and delicate colours make it ideal for terrariums, plant cabinets, desktops, and decorative shelves. Common Issues Crispy edges: Low humidity or underwatering.
